eileens-song

Name:
Location: a tiny town in the Olympics, Olympic Mountains Washington, United States

I am a woman in my middle fifties who is still married to the love of my life since 1969. We were married Valentines day 1970 in a small wedding in my parents home. On our journey together we have lived in many places, Spokane, where we went to college,Bremerton where we moved after college, Navy Yard city where we bought our first tiny house, East Bremerton where we built our second house in a subdivision, Silverdale where we built our third home which was to be our final home, Poulsbo where we lived in a tiny fifth wheel for a year after we moved all our belongings to South Dakota where we were supposed to be moving, a trailer park in Quilcene where we lived in a larger fifth wheel for 2 years while we were getting our little piece of land ready to move onto as per county codes where we now live and have lived very happily for almost 11 years. I have been many things over the years but mostly I am a woman, a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a loyal friend. I believe life is one giant cosmic song and all life are movements within the great symphony of the creator. I am a symphony with many movements and so dear friend are you.

The view i see driving into Port Townsend on a clear day. Posted by Picasa

Seeing is believing, or is it?

How do you view your world? Our eyes are a wonderful thing, they work together with both halves of our brain to bring the three dimensional view to our attention. Our eyes bring the logical half of our brain together with the creative half of our brain to create what we see. A balanced walk through our lives requires that we use both halves of our brain to perceive what we see, to mix logic with intuition. This is what gives depth to our seeing. In a balanced life we allow the two processes to triangulate to form a fuller perception of the reality that lies beyond. It is particularly important for our spirit eyes to walk a parallel path with our earth eyes in order for our communication to remain whole.
Remaining present with what we are seeing keeps this thought process awake and able to enable our learning about the world around us.
The things we teach our mind in this way give us a better ability to respond in a fully responsible way to what is occuring right now. If we remain present we will not need to put our brain into a search mode to figure out how to respond.
Some would call this kind of seeing, looking deeply, and by looking deeply, that something becomes a part of you.
In "Three Strands in the Braid" a guide for enablers of learning, Paula Underwood writes;
"It is the responsibility of each of us to perceive the forest with Spirit eyes, to hear its echoes with Spirit ears, to understand the flow of change through Universe. It is the responsibility of each not to be lost in awareness of the vastness of the forest. It is the responsibility of each to choose a specific, sequential path through that perceived forest, choosing the path with Earth eyes and hearing those echoes with Earth ears. Neither can substitute for the other. Spirit awareness cannot substitute for Earth awareness. Earth awareness cannot substitute for Spirit awareness."
In looking at what influences our thought processes today I am particularly aware of the influence electronic media is having on our populations inability to process information in a balanced manner. People of our lifetime are spending more time "looking deeply" at false images on a flat screen doing things they would never otherwise see or think, if they were spending that same time looking at, and interacting with, the authentic world around them. These false images influence our thought processes and make it difficult for the two sides of our brain to negotiate a clear path to communication between our Spirit eyes and our Earth eyes.
Ask yourself this question at the end of your day today just before you retire for sleep.
"What did I really see today?" You may be surprised at what you did not really see, you may be surprised at what you remember seeing. Was what you remember of the day false imagery from a screen or real imagery from your world. Were your eyes simply automotons going through the day on auto pilot?
We are the drivers of our sight. We are the ones making the choice of what we see and what we choose not to see. What criteria influence this?
You may be startled to find out that how you see and what you choose to see determine who you will be!
A way to begin some serious interior spiritual work is to explore your own particular style of seeing and through this exercise you will discover your specific pattern of viewing your world. Knowing this will give you understanding that will help you integrate into your world view both sides of your brain for a more balanced perspective. It will help you see and overcome imbalance in your life and create a more loving and harmonious life for yourself.

Senses are our threasholds

Our senses are our own personal thresholds to Spirit. They take us deep into the inner world of our heart. The youness of you. They are the bridge between you and the world around you. When we tune into the personal wisdom of our senses, we can never become an exile or outsider from our own life, lost in an external spiritual place of our own making or that of another, constructed by will and intellect alone. Listening to the wisdom of our senses protects us from becoming captive to the will and intellect of another who would wish to controll us.
For far too long, much of humanity has believed that the divine is outside of us. This belief that our spirituality is without and not within has put a great strain on our longing and strain upon us as humanity. Longing has great wisdom and depth and causes us to look for divinity. When we focus that longing on a divinity outside ourselves, one that is faraway and possibly unreachable we overstrain our wise longing and cause it to become cynical, empty, angry, and full of negativity. If instead we focus that longing on knowing that the body is within the soul, and that our soul is divine ground, then the presence of divinity is completely here, close as our breath, instantly connected to our thought.
Our senses link us intimately with the divine that is within us and around us. When we tune into our senses we limber up our stiffened belief patterns and bring gentleness to our atrophied outlook. We warm and massage the feelings that are holding us captive, placing barriers that excile us from ourselves and others. We open the doorway that allows us access to the incredible harvest of spirit that is always gathering around and within us.
We are then fully awake and alive in the moment and intimately connected to spirit, able to hear divinity and be guided. It is then that our thoughts become prayers or praise and are instantly transmitted. We are connected to our power source and available to the divine.
Tune in to all your senses today, become available to your power source.

New Angel Creation. Card number 8 in the series. Posted by Picasa

eileens-song

I have been reading books by Thom Hartman lately as some of you know. In"The Prophets Way" he is having a conversation with Gottfried Muller. They are discussing the potential for change in the world from the smallest acts. He uses the example of Hitlers rise to power and the fact that in 7 short years he rose from obscurity and conqured nearly all of Europe. Using the example he said,"look at all that power and accomplishment regardless of your opinion of right or wrong," then he says "Where is the man who would have that kind of power for "good?" "We must now create a mighty army of conquering Angels, people committed to peace and good".... How you ask? ..."Begin with the smallest act of compassion and do it for the least of the least, and DO IT in secret." The butterfly effect, Fractal geometry. One person can change the world, Ican change the world! You can change the world. Tiny acts of mercy, small changes in our lives, gentle transformation in our own way of thinking and living, all will affect the world system in ways that are impossible to predict but will have long and lasting impacts. He talks about creating a grid work of tiny points of light over the earth. It is going to take millions of us creating these tiny points of light to tip the balance but once the gridwork has been begun fractal geometry will take over. The gridwork foundation is in place. In another chapter he tells of ways to protect ourselves, creating safeplaces to live with just tiny changes. He uses the guest house as an example. First it was built with much attention placed on design and furnishings in respect to the earths energy fields. Natural fibers, wiring insulated with sheilding that protects from the electrical radiation leaking into the house, and I thought this was amazing, a thin layer of silk fabric under each mattress to protect people sleeping there from and insulate from the currents of the earth! Lots of good stuff in this book! Food for thought.
We can have Holy places in our homes, and on our properties, which we visit daily, even if just to nod a quick thanks. We can build alters in our hearts, on the memories of those we love and on our own experiences of the divine. These are the beginnings of the "small works" which stir the winds which will eventually create the hurricane of change in the world.
What can you do today to create a tiny point of light and silently become one of these Angels?

Are you awake in this world or asleep?

I am reading another of the wonderful enlightening books by Thom Hartman this week titled, "The Prophets Way." In it I have been reminded of more of the teachings I received while with The Osage Woman, Shaman. When I began my studies with her I was in a state of severe depression that threatened to take me out of here. I have been in this state before many times and my angels always bring me back. Well In this book by Thom I was reminded what exactly it means to be awake. In his studies with Herr Muller he too learned that most people spend most of their lives asleep functioning on auto pilot so to speak. His descriptive theme has been that "most people walk through life in a state of somnambulance, oblivious to the very real "now" all around them"
Have you ever noticed how often you run on auto pilot and go an entire day before pausing for a moment to look around and notice where and when you are? HOW OFTEN CAN YOU SAY YOU ARE REALLY AWARE OF BEING AWAKE AND ALIVE AND PRESENT IN THIS MOMENT WITHOUT THE DISTRACTION OF YOUR THOUGHTS OF THE PAST OR THE FUTURE CROWDING IN TO TAKE OVER YOUR ENJOYMENT OF THE MOMENT?
Often we are thinking of the past or the future that is only moments past or in the future, judging and evaluating it and wondering what we are going to do or say next. Thom says that when this happens, "whether thinking of what happened two minutes ago or twenty years ago the effect is the same, we"re not awake." "To be awake, Herr Muller says, is to know that you are alive and to feel the presence of God in this moment" Doing this brings a powerful spiritual energy into life.
Try being alive for a few moments right now. Spend some time lingering with each of your five senses as you move through them and for a moment be right here with, not separate from, your place and totally present in the moment.
There are many jewels of wisdom in this book.
One thing it reminded me of was that when I was at the deepest depression of my life I was always living in the dream world of my past and the pain I suffered there. I was dwelling in past experiences, unable to forgive ,unable to forget, unable to move on. Unable to see the great creator in anything not even in myself. I was lost in the fog of my memories held captive by them.
To heal and come to life again I had to learn to practice being present in the now, seeing life and creator in everything around and in me.
This weeks storm reminded me once again just how little control we have over the past or the future and how to bless the moments as they come. All my senses were heightened and I was very aware of the wonderful and powerful creator of this world. After the storm I was very aware of the incredible smell of the fir trees where I live and marveled in the fact that I so often do not notice this wonder. What does your world smell like right now?

Angels in my Life

A while back I began to create cards from my stash of old and discontinued wall paper books. As I was looking through all the papers for inspiration I kept thinking about the people in my life who I consider to be Angels and also about all the encounters that I have had with these Spirit Beings during my 55 years. I began to see angels in the prints and in the blank places between the prints that inspired me to create this series of cards using snippetts of some of these prints as well as inclusions of other found materials such as feathers found on my property, and ribbons or flower petals or paint and glitter stars.
This has been a fun and absorbing creative time for me. Here is my introduction to the latest in the series. She is number 8 and I have named her Flora Abhren. To me she is the song of the flower seeds. Spring is around the corner and with it new life in the flower beds and everywhere else too.

Number 8 in my Series of Angel cards has arrived! Here in all her Glory is "Flora Abhren" Posted by Picasa
